Fix & Reveal - Debugging Contest

On February 27, 2025, under the Institute’s Innovation Cell and the Association of Information Science and Engineering (AISE), the Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) organized a thrilling contest named 'Fix & Reveal.' This technical event challenged participants to debug errors and uncover a hidden message embedded within the code. The competition featured three exciting rounds, each increasing in difficulty. The first round involved debugging errors in a C program. Participants who successfully uncovered the hidden message advanced to the second round, which featured a more challenging Java program. The final round, the most difficult of all, required participants to debug a Python program. A total of 23 teams participated in the contest. In the first round, the top 15 teams who deciphered the message first advanced to the second round. The best five teams from the second round proceeded to the final challenge. In all three rounds, the output of the corrected program generated a number sequence, which participants had to convert into letters using ASCII values to reveal a hidden message. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from ISE students, making it a grand success. The contest not only tested students’ coding and debugging abilities but also encouraged problem-solving and logical thinking. The event was supported by Prof. Sudarshan K., Head of the Department (HOD), ISE. It was skillfully conducted by Ms. Sanvi Shetty, Ms. Swathi, and Ms. Varshini from the 4th semester ISE. The event was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Aparna N under the guidance of Prof. Sowmya, Staff Advisor of AISE. Their teamwork and dedication ensured the smooth execution of the contest. 'Fix & Reveal' stood out as an engaging platform for students to showcase their programming skills, setting a benchmark for future events and fostering an innovative spirit within the institution.
