Dept. of EEE, in association with ELITE organised a industrial visit

Department Of Electical and Electronics Engineering, in association with ELITE organised a industrial visit of oneday for the second year students on 5th April 2019. Students visited Udupi Power Corporation Limited ( Subsidiary of Adani Power) and New Mangalore Port Trust( NMPT) Solar Power Plant.

Total of 28 students along with one staff visited both the plants and gained knowledge about two types of power generation, thermal and solar power. UPCL is an imported coal based thermal power plant of total capacity 2x 600MW (1200MW). NMPT solar power plant is a 4MW solar power project commissioned by Bosch Ltd. Its a ground mounted installation on a land area of close to 18 acres. It delivers close to 20000 units a day for the port’s captive consumption.( equivalent to the power consumption of 5000 urban households).
