Celebration of Anti-Ragging Day

On 12th August 2024, Srinivas Institute of Technology celebrated Anti-Ragging Day with enthusiasm and a focus on fostering a respectful campus environment. The event began with a pledge ceremony led by Dr. Sooryanarayana, Head of the Physics Department, where attendees committed to opposing ragging. Dr. Veena Santhosh Rai delivered a compelling guest lecture titled From Fear to Friendship - Overcoming Ragging Together, emphasizing the need for collective action to eliminate ragging and promote respect. This was followed by an engaging discussion and Q&A session, and an awareness campaign with posters and social media efforts was launched. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Anantkumar Kulkarni, Coordinator of the Anti-Ragging Cell, and was emceed by Dr. Sumana S from the Chemistry Department. The key takeaways were the importance of addressing ragging as a serious issue, the need for a united effort to create a ragging-free environment, and the value of respect, empathy, and inclusivity on campus.
