
🌟 Startup Blueprint & Ethical Hacking Insights - CSBS Department Event
The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a virtual session titled “Startup Blueprint & Ethical Hacking Insights” on 15th March 2025. This event was aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of entrepreneurship and cybersecurity, two crucial areas shaping the future of technology and business. Under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayyya D, Principal, and Mr. Shailesh Shetty S, Head of the CSBS Department, the session featured Mr. Lingaraj Benni, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, as the resource person. The session began at 11:00 AM via Microsoft Teams and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. Mr. Lingaraj Benni initiated the talk by discussing the foundational aspects of building a successful startup. He emphasized the importance of identifying real-world problems and converting innovative ideas into viable business solutions. Topics such as market research, competitor analysis, business model creation, funding options, and scalability strategies were thoroughly covered. Mr. Lingaraj Benni provided practical insights into how budding entrepreneurs can secure investments and sustain growth by leveraging adaptability, resilience, and technological skills. In the second part of the session, attention was shifted to ethical hacking. Mr. Lingaraj Benni explained the increasing relevance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world and highlighted the ethical responsibility that comes with hacking skills. He introduced students to various tools and methodologies used in ethical hacking, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and network security techniques. He also addressed the importance of legal compliance and professional integrity in the field of cybersecurity. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students actively participated and clarified their doubts. Overall, the event successfully provided students with valuable knowledge on entrepreneurship and ethical hacking, inspiring them to pursue innovative ideas responsibly and securely.
