On 21st August 2026, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science and Design (CSD), in association with IEEE-SB, organized an Interview Readiness Session titled “Ace It Before You Face It!” at the Department Seminar Hall at 01:55 PM. The session was conducted by Prof. Archana D, ACODE Advisor, with the objective of preparing students to confidently face interviews and improve their communication and self-introduction skills.

The session focused on explaining the interview process, important methods and rules to be followed during interviews, and effective ways of introducing oneself. Prof. Archana D explained the importance of making a good first impression, maintaining confidence, communicating clearly, and presenting relevant information appropriately during an interview.

As part of the session, students were given an opportunity to practice answering the commonly asked interview question “Introduce Yourself.” Students came forward and introduced themselves as they would in an actual interview. Their responses, communication style, confidence, content, and presentation were observed and evaluated.

After each student's introduction, Prof. Archana D provided individual feedback, highlighting both the positive aspects and areas that needed improvement. Students were guided on what they had done well and were also informed about mistakes or inappropriate approaches that should be avoided during interviews. Suggestions were given on how to structure their introduction, speak confidently, avoid unnecessary information, and present their strengths and skills effectively.

The interactive nature of the session allowed students to understand their strengths and weaknesses while giving them practical experience in handling interview situations. The activity helped students become more aware of appropriate interview etiquette and improved their confidence in introducing themselves professionally.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Sahana B, CSD Event Coordinator, and Prof. Aparna N, ISE Event Coordinator. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, with the support of Prof. Sudarshan K, HOD, ISE & CSD.
