The Department of ISE & CSD, in association with the Alumni Cell, organised a session titled “From Internship to Placement: Turning Experience into Opportunity” on 18 September 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Department Seminar Hall. The session was conducted with the objective of guiding students on how to transform their internship experience into meaningful career opportuni-ties.
The session was delivered by Ms. Sinchana, SAP: Package Specialist SD, IBM India Pvt. Ltd. Drawing from her professional experience, the resource person shared valuable insights into the importance of internships in building technical and professional competencies. The session high-lighted how students can make effective use of internship opportunities by actively learning, devel-oping industry-relevant skills, taking initiative, and gaining practical exposure.
The interaction also focused on the transition from internship to placement and the expectations of organisations during recruitment. Students were encouraged to view internships not merely as an academic requirement but as an opportunity to understand workplace culture, enhance their skills, build professional confidence, and identify areas for improvement.
The session provided students with practical guidance on approaching placement preparation with greater awareness and purpose. The interaction with an industry professional also enabled students to gain a better understanding of the relationship between academic learning, internship experience, and career development.
The program received strong support from Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Prof. Sudar-shan K, Head of the Department, ISE and CSD, whose guidance ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Aparna N, Staff Coordinator, and Prof. Sowmya, ISE Staff Advisor, and Prof. Archana D, CSD Staff Advisor.
