The Engineers’ Day Celebration and Inaugural Function of the Students’ Council 2026–27 was held on 15th September 2026 at the Seminar Hall of Srinivas Institute of Technology. The programme was conducted to commemorate Engineers’ Day and inaugurate the Students’ Council for the academic year 2026–27. The programme began with an Invocation, followed by the Welcome Address and Introduction of the Chief Guest. The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp was conducted, followed by a Floral Tribute to Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The office bearers of the Students’ Council were then introduced, followed by the presentation of the Action Plan for the Academic Year. The Chief Guest, Er. Gopal Krishna Nayak, Deep Tech Entrepreneur, Mangaluru, delivered an inspiring talk on Sir M. Visvesvaraya and his contributions. He also shared valuable insights for us as future engineers, highlighting the difference between knowledge and understanding. He emphasized the importance of understanding concepts rather than merely knowing the content and spoke about the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in engineering. His talk was informative and motivating for the students. This was followed by the Presidential Address by the Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The programme was successfully conducted and provided an inspiring beginning to the Students’ Council activities for the academic year 2026–27. The celebration was a meaningful experience for the students, encouraging them to learn, understand, innovate and contribute as responsible future engineers.
