On 17th September 2026, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme on “Outcome-Based Education: Course File Management and RBTL Framework for Effective Assessment De-sign”.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sandeep Bhat, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, who provided valuable insights into the principles and implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in academic process-es. The programme focused on course planning, course file preparation, learning outcomes, as-sessment design, and alignment of teaching-learning activities with course outcomes.

During the programme, the resource person discussed Course Outcomes (COs), Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs), CO-PO mapping, outcome attain-ment, and course file management. The session also highlighted the application of the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (RBTL) framework for framing effective questions and designing assess-ments at different cognitive levels.

Practical examples were shared on Bloom’s Taxonomy, question paper design, assessment methods, attainment calculations, and documentation. The interactive session enabled faculty members to clarify their queries and gain a better understanding of effective OBE implementation and assessment practices.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, IQAC Chairman and Principal, with the support of Prof. Nagaraja Hebbar N, IQAC Coordinator. The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Aparna N, Event Coordinator, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

Overall, the FDP provided faculty members with valuable insights into OBE practices, systematic course file management, and RBTL-based assessment design.
