The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in collaboration with IIC and EDP Cell, organized a workshop titled “Awareness Workshop on Innovation and Higher Education Opportunities” on November 20, 2025. The event was exclusively arranged for the 5th-semester ECE students with the objective of providing them early guidance on shaping their academic and professional careers. The session was led by Mr. Ashith Poojari and Mr. Raviraj. The workshop began with an overview of the current innovation landscape in engineering, highlighting the importance of creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking in today’s technology-driven world. The resource person explained how engineering graduates can leverage institutional facilities, national innovation programs, and startup support schemes to build impactful solutions and explore entrepreneurial careers.

A major part of the session focused on higher education opportunities in India and abroad. Mr. Ashith provided comprehensive insights into postgraduate programs such as M.Tech, MS, MBA, and specialized international programs. He explained in detail the structure, eligibility, and preparation strategies for competitive examinations including GATE, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, CAT, and other aptitude-based tests. The students were guided on choosing the right career pathway based on their interests, strengths, and long-term goals. Information on scholarships, application timelines, and university selection was also shared to help students plan effectively.

The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion where students clarified doubts related to career planning, preparation techniques, and opportunities in emerging domains. As an outcome of the session, students gained a deep understanding of the innovation ecosystem, the significance of developing technical and analytical skills, and the various avenues available for pursuing higher education. The session also encouraged students to participate actively in innovation challenges, startup initiatives, and research-oriented projects supported by the institution. Overall, the workshop successfully enhanced the students’ awareness and motivation to explore both innovation and higher academic prospects with confidence and clarity.
