The students of 2nd and 3rd Year Mechanical Engineering undertook a two-day Industrial Visit on 27th and 28th February 2026 to Mysore and Bangalore as part of experiential learning and industry exposure. On 27th February, the students visited Avighna Industries, Inchametric Gears Pvt. Ltd., Strategi Automation Pvt. Ltd., and Payana Vintage Car Museum in Mysore. At Avighna Industries, students gained practical exposure to CNC multi-axis machine operations, engineering drawing interpretation, CNC programming fundamentals, precision manufacturing techniques, and quality control practices. The visit enabled them to understand the real-time implementation of advanced machining processes in industry.

At Inchametric Gears Pvt. Ltd., students were introduced to gear manufacturing processes using automated and CNC gear cutting machines. They observed gear hobbing, shaping operations, post-processing methods, and quality inspection techniques, which enhanced their understanding of precision gear production. At Strategi Automation Pvt. Ltd., students learned about gantry automation system development from scratch, integration of automation components, special purpose machines, and automation integration with existing CNC machines. They were also exposed to Cartesian robots and multi-axis robotic systems, gaining valuable knowledge about modern industrial automation and smart manufacturing technologies.

The students also visited Payana Vintage Car Museum, where they observed a rich collection of vintage and classic automobiles. They studied the build quality, traditional manufacturing techniques, mechanical design evolution, engine mechanisms, transmission systems, and structural aspects of early automobiles. This visit helped them understand the evolution of automobile engineering and compare traditional mechanical systems with modern technologies.

On 28th February, the students visited Wonderla in Bangalore, where a technical session was conducted in the morning. They learned about the drive mechanisms used in roller coasters and other amusement rides, mechanical transmission systems, safety and fail-safe mechanisms, and the application of pneumatic and hydraulic systems in ride operations. The session provided practical insights into applied mechanics, dynamics, fluid power systems, and safety engineering in large-scale mechanical installations.

The management and technical staff of all organizations extended full cooperation and provided detailed technical explanations, greatly enriching the learning experience. The students were escorted by Prof. SathyaPrakash Anekallu. The visit was strongly motivated and encouraged by Dr. Srinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Dr. Shankar KS, Head of the Department. Overall, the industrial visit significantly enhanced the students’ practical knowledge, technical awareness, and industry readiness by bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world engineering applications.
