The session on “orientation – why enrichment” began with a warm welcome and brief introduction of the purpose of the enrichment program for first-year students. This was followed by an introduction of the guest speaker, Dr. Dheeraj Hebri, our respected resource person with industry and academic experience, who then took over the session. The speaker began by addressing the students and setting the tone for the session by asking reflective questions about their goals, expectations from engineering, and what success means to them.

This interactive opening highlighted the need for going beyond academics to build a strong foundation for the future. Key points covered during the session included the definition and scope of enrichment, the benefits of participating in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and how such experiences contribute to personal and professional development. The speaker also spoke about industry expectations, the importance of soft skills, and how enrichment programs can help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world demands. The session ended with a motivational message encouraging students to explore opportunities, take initiative, and be proactive in their learning journey and an interactive activity session which included quiz, riddles, and debate.

The students responded positively to the session, appreciating the practical insights shared by the speaker about the importance of enrichment programs. Many felt motivated to explore opportunities beyond the classroom and recognized how these activities can help shape their future careers. The session sparked curiosity and encouraged students to be proactive in their learning journey. Overall, the feedback highlighted that the orientation was both engaging and helpful in setting a clear direction for personal and professional growth.
