INCULCATING GOOD VALUES FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
The session on “Inculcating Good Values for Personal and Professional Growth” began with a welcome address and a brief introduction to the purpose of the enrichment program. The resource person, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of the institution, was then invited to conduct the session. The speaker started by explaining the importance of values in shaping an individual’s identity and guiding them through academic and professional challenges. He encouraged students to reflect on their habits, attitudes, and goals, emphasizing that college life is a crucial phase for building strong ethical foundations.
During the session, the speaker highlighted the significance of moral values such as honesty, punctuality, empathy, and discipline in overall personality development. He explained how these values help students build confidence, maintain good relationships, and grow into responsible individuals. The session also covered how value-based behaviour benefits students in their future careers, as industries seek professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also responsible, disciplined, and cooperative. The speaker stressed the quote “Give respect and take respect” to make his students understand that respect can be earned only when you learn to give it to others first. The speaker also pointed out a few things he felt the student organizers should improve and advised them to take feedbacks positively and make those changes in themselves.
