On 28th August 2026, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science and Design (CSD), in association with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), IEEE Student Branch, and YUKTI Cell, organized “START-UPEXPO 2026 – Poster Presentation of Start-Ups & Linkage with Mentors/Experts” at the Department Seminar Hall at 2:00 PM.

The event provided an exciting platform for students from all departments to present their innovative ideas, start-up concepts, working prototypes, products, and solutions before judges. The programme aimed to encourage students to transform their innovative ideas into viable start-up and business opportunities.

Students presented a wide range of innovative concepts, including start-up ideas, working prototypes, apps and software solutions, AI and emerging technology solutions, social and sustainable innovations, and product/business concepts. Their presentations focused on identifying a problem, proposing a suitable solution, highlighting innovation, identifying target users, and discussing the business potential of their ideas.

The participants were evaluated based on important aspects such as innovation and originality, relevance and feasibility, solution/product concept, business potential and market need, prototype/demonstration, presentation and communication, and confidence during the question-and-answer session.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Sahana Bandekar and Prof. Athmaranjan K, Event Co-ordinators. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, with the support of Prof. Sudarshan K, HOD, ISE & CSD, and Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Co-ordinator.

Overall, START-UPEXPO 2026 was an engaging and successful event that provided students with a valuable platform to showcase their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial potential. The programme encouraged students to develop practical solutions, validate their ideas, and explore opportunities for further mentorship, innovation, and start-up development.
