The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and YUKTI Cell, organized “Innovation Impact – Startup Demo Day, Exhibition & Mentor Connect” from 10th August 2026 to 21st August 2026 at Room No. 203. The programme was organized with the objective of encouraging students to identify current social issues and real-world problems and develop innovative start-up ideas and prototypes that could provide practical solutions.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Dr. Shrusha H S, Head of the Department, CSE. The programme was coordinated with the support of Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, Prof. Deepthi P D’souza, Department Project Coordinator, and the Department IIC Coordinators Prof. Harishma K V and Prof. Reshma B. Their continuous guidance and encouragement contributed significantly to the successful organization of the programme.

As part of the event, students were encouraged to work in teams and develop innovative start-up ideas focusing on addressing relevant social issues and real-world challenges. The participants were guided to explore problem areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, sustainability, waste management, environmental issues, women and child safety, rural development, smart cities, accessibility, disaster management, and other digital solutions for societal challenges.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to present their ideas and prototypes before mentors and faculty members. Through the Startup Demo Day and Exhibition, the participants demonstrated their innovative concepts, explained the problems they intended to solve, and presented possible solutions and prototype models. The Mentor Connect component of the programme enabled students to interact with mentors and receive valuable suggestions regarding the feasibility, innovation potential, and further development of their ideas.

The event also helped students understand the importance of identifying real-world problems before developing a product or service. The mentoring and interaction sessions encouraged them to refine their ideas, improve their presentation skills, and explore the possibility of converting innovative concepts into viable start-up ventures. Students were motivated to think beyond conventional academic projects and focus on solutions that could create a meaningful social impact.

The programme witnessed active participation from the students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The exhibition and presentation sessions created an interactive platform for students to showcase their creativity, technical knowledge, and entrepreneurial potential. The feedback provided by the mentors and faculty members helped the participants gain a clearer understanding of the steps involved in developing an idea into a practical and sustainable solution.
