From Idea to MVP: Lean Startup Approach for Student Innovators
The Automobile and Aeronautical Association (AMARA), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a session titled “From Idea to MVP: Lean Startup Approach for Student Innovators” on 20th August 2026 at 11:00 AM at room no M501, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The session was conducted by Prof. Madhusudhan S, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, SIT, Mangaluru, with the objective of introducing students to lean startup principles and the process of developing ideas into Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
The resource person explained the Lean Startup approach, focusing on identifying problems, developing suitable solutions, building an MVP, testing ideas with users, collecting feedback, and continuously improving the product. He highlighted how students can avoid unnecessary development by first validating their ideas and understanding user requirements before investing significant time and resources.
The session also explored the use of Antigravity as a supporting tool for the lean startup process. The resource person demonstrated how such AI-based tools can assist students in developing and refining ideas, exploring solutions, creating initial outputs, and accelerating the transition from an idea to an MVP. The discussion helped students understand how AI tools can complement their technical knowledge during different stages of startup development.
The session began at 11:00 AM with Ms. Anvita, a 7th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, extending a warm welcome to the gathering and served as the master of ceremonies. Ms. Jnanashri, a 7th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, introduced the resource person. The event concluded with Ms. Tanuja, 7th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, delivering the vote of thanks.
