Anti-Ragging awareness and Pledging Programme
The Automobile and Aeronautical Association (AMARA), in collaboration with the Institution’s Anti-Ragging Cell, organized the “Anti-Ragging awareness and Pledging Programme” on 19 August 2026 at 10:30 AM at M501, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru. The program was organized to provide awareness about Anti-Ragging Policies, physical and psychological effects of ragging among the students and its legal consequences. In this programme, Students pledge the National pledge against ragging and student pledge against ragging.
The session was addressed by Dr. Rajesh from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, who delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the topic 'Ragging and Its physical and psychological effects.' He highlighted the various consequences of ragging including psychological trauma, loss of academic focus, decline in performance, and the long-lasting effects on mental health. He also underlined the legal and professional consequences that students may face if they are found guilty of participating in ragging activities. Dr. Rajesh explained that ragging is not just a disciplinary violation, but a punishable offense under Indian law that could jeopardize the career and reputation of the individuals involved.
