The Automobile and Aeronautical Association (AMARA), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and YUKTI Innovation Cell, organized the “Student Innovation Showcase: Prototype Validation and Value Proposition Fit” on 14 August 2026 at 2:30 PM at M505, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru. The program was organized to provide students with an opportunity to present their innovative projects and understand the process of converting academic projects into practical products.

The session focused on the importance of innovation, prototype development, validation, and value proposition in taking a student project beyond the academic level. Students were encouraged to identify the real-world problem addressed by their projects, explain the proposed solution, demonstrate their working prototypes or simulations, and discuss the benefits offered to potential users. The importance of testing and validation was highlighted to assess the technical performance and practical applicability of the developed solutions.

The participating student teams presented their projects and explained the problem statements, methodology, working principles, prototype development, and validation results. The projects were also discussed in terms of their target users, value proposition, product potential, and possible future development, helping students understand how an academic project can progress towards a market-oriented product or startup.

The showcase followed the progression “Idea → Prototype → Validation → Value Proposition → Product → Startup”, encouraging students to think beyond project completion and consider further development, user needs, market applicability, and commercialization opportunities. Faculty coordinators and mentors interacted with the student teams and provided suggestions for improving the technical performance, practical usefulness, and future potential of their innovations.

The event provided a platform for students to gain practical exposure to prototype validation and product-oriented thinking, while strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship culture of the institution under the IIC and YUKTI initiatives.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Prakash T and Dr. Niranjan Prabhu, Dept. IIC Coordinators, Dr. Umashankar S, project coordinator, along with Dr. Rajesh B, Dept. Yukti coordinator, Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar, Yukti innovation Coordinator. The event was successfully conducted with the guidance of Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD – AU), Dr. Praveen Shenoy (IIC coordinator), and under the leadership of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT.
