One Minute Talk – Speak for Freedom, Inspire a Nation
A departmental activity titled “One Minute Talk – Speak for Freedom, Inspire a Nation” was organized on 14th August 2026 by the Departments of Computer Science and Design (CSD) and Information Science and Engineering (ISE), Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign commemorating the 80th Independence Day of India. The activity aimed to encourage students to actively participate in Independence Day celebrations and develop awareness about the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters. The activity was based on the theme “Talk for 1 Minute on Any Freedom Fighter”, where students selected a freedom fighter and spoke about their contributions, struggles, and sacrifices. The one-minute format encouraged students to express their thoughts clearly and confidently while creating awareness about India’s freedom movement. The programme was conducted at 2:30 P.M. in Room No. 406, with enthusiastic participation from students of the CSD and ISE departments. Students spoke about various freedom fighters and highlighted their courage, patriotism, and contributions to the nation. The activity provided an opportunity for students to learn about different freedom fighters while developing their public speaking and communication skills. As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” spirit, the programme encouraged students to reflect on the significance of independence, respect the national flag, and understand their responsibilities as citizens. The activity also promoted confidence, effective communication, and awareness of Indian history. The successful conduct of the activity was supported by the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, and Prof. Rakesh Mallya D, College NSS Coordinator.
