Using AI for Fundraising & Investor Pitch Preparation

The Department of Marine Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) Cell, and the Association of Integrated Marine Engineering Students (AIMES), conducted a workshop titled “Using AI for Fundraising & Investor Pitch Preparation” on 12 August 2026.

Prof. Rakesh Mallya, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, served as the resource person for the workshop. The session focused on the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in fundraising and the preparation of professional and persuasive investor pitch presentations.

During the workshop, the resource person explained how AI tools can support entrepreneurs in conducting market research, identifying potential investors, analysing competitors, and preparing financial plans. The session also highlighted the use of AI for developing professional presentations, improving storytelling, and presenting business ideas in a clear and convincing manner. A key aspect of the workshop was the importance of tailoring investor pitches according to the interests, expectations, and investment preferences of different investors. The participants were introduced to the ways in which AI can assist entrepreneurs in refining their business communication, strengthening their value proposition, and improving the overall quality of their investor presentations.

The programme was coordinated by Prof. Sunil Prakash R., IIC In-charge (Event Coordinator), Prof. Chandra Jogi, EDP In-charge, and Prof. Vivek V. Kumar, AIMES Coordinator, with the support of the Department of Marine Engineering, IIC, EDP Cell, and AIMES student members. The event was conducted in the presence of Dr. Lokesh V., Head, Department of Marine Engineering, and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology. The workshop provided participants with practical insights into the growing role of AI in entrepreneurship, fundraising, and investor communication. It encouraged students to explore AI-enabled tools for developing innovative business ideas and preparing effective investor pitches.
