Ideas to Impact: The Engineering Startup Journey – Transforming Innovation into Market Success
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with STEADY and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an insightful session titled “Ideas to Impact: The Engineering Startup Journey – Transforming Innovation into Market Success” on 11th August 2026.
The session was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among engineering students about entrepreneurship and the journey of transforming innovative ideas into viable startup ventures. Such sessions provide students with exposure to practical aspects of innovation, problem identification, product development, market opportunities, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Dr. Ashwath Rao, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, served as the Resource Person for the session. He shared valuable insights into the engineering startup ecosystem and discussed how technical knowledge and innovative ideas can be translated into solutions that address real-world problems. The session emphasized the importance of identifying meaningful problems, developing practical solutions, understanding market requirements, and continuously improving ideas based on feedback.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of innovation, creativity, problem-solving, adaptability, perseverance, and market awareness in building a successful startup. Students were encouraged to look beyond conventional career paths and explore entrepreneurship as an avenue for creating technological and societal impact.
The session provided participants with a better understanding of the various stages involved in an entrepreneurial journey, from idea generation and validation to product development and market success. It also motivated students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and consider converting their academic projects and innovative ideas into practical solutions.
