Alumni Interaction by Mr. Akshay Krishnan with Mechanical Engineering Students Held at Srinivas Institute of Technology
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, organized an insightful interaction session with its alumnus Mr. Akshay Krishnan, Project Lead, Ashok Leyland, Channai, on 7 th August 2026, at Mechanical Seminar Hall, as part of its efforts to strengthen alumni–student engagement and provide students with valuable exposure to professional and entrepreneurial opportunities.The programme was jointly organized by ASMA, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC),Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC), Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDP Cell), and Incubation and Start-up Cell of the institute.
Mr. Akshay Krishnan interacted with the students of the Mechanical Engineering department and shared valuable insights from his academic and professional journey. The session provided students with an opportunity to understand the practical challenges and opportunities associated with the engineering profession, while also highlighting the importance of developing technical competence, communication skills, innovation, and a professional outlook.
During the interaction, Mr. Akshay encouraged students to make effective use of their academic years by developing industry-relevant skills, exploring emerging technologies, identifying real-world engineering problems, and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset. He also emphasized theimportance of continuous learning and adapting to the changing requirements of the engineering and industrial sectors.
The interactive nature of the session enabled students to actively participate and clarify their queries regarding career development, professional opportunities, entrepreneurship, and the transition from campus to industry. The interaction served as a valuable platform for students to gain practical perspectives from an alumnus and to understand the importance of translating academic knowledge into real-world applications.
