The Association of Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering (AMARA) in association with the Alumni Cell of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organized an Alumni Talk on “Alumni Insights: Bridging Campus to Career” on 28th August 2025.

The resource person for the session was Mr. Pavankumar P M, Supervisor, Mahindra Aerospace, Bengaluru, and distinguished alumnus of the department.

In his talk, Mr. Pavankumar emphasized the practical importance of academic projects. He highlighted that mini-projects provide students with an opportunity to experiment, build confidence, and apply classroom knowledge in a simplified way. He further explained that major projects serve as a bridge to industry practices by enhancing teamwork, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. He also stressed the significance of internships, stating that they help students gain exposure to real-time industrial environments, improve professional networking, and develop workplace discipline.

Additionally, he motivated students to actively participate in departmental activities, workshops, and competitions, as such platforms nurture leadership qualities, communication skills, and adaptability—qualities highly valued by employers.

Mr. Pavankumar also gave an overview of Mahindra Aerospace, elaborating on its contributions to the aviation sector, scope for innovation, and career opportunities for engineering graduates. He encouraged students to align their skill development with emerging industry demands such as automation, design software, and quality management systems.

The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in discussions about career planning, required skill sets, and industry expectations. His insights served as a strong motivation for the students to make the most of their academic journey and prepare themselves for professional challenges.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Prakash T, Staff Coordinator, along with Prof. Sathyaprakash A, Alumni Coordinator. The guidance and support of Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD-AE), Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD-AU), and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D (Principal) ensured the success of the program.
