Exploring AI Tools for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, in association with AMARA, Incubation and Startup Cell, and EDP Cell, organized a hands-on session on “Exploring AI Tools for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” on 29th August 2025 at 2:00 PM in Room No. M503, Mechanical Block.
The resource person for the session was Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Marine Engineering, SIT Mangaluru.
Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar engaged the students with a practical demonstration of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can be effectively utilized in areas of creativity, app building, productivity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He explained how AI is transforming industries, enabling startups, and providing new avenues for problem-solving and business development. The session included examples of AI-driven tools for idea generation, content development, design applications, data analysis, and decision-making support.
He also highlighted the importance of upskilling in AI, encouraging students to leverage these tools in their academic projects, research, and entrepreneurial ventures. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to gain hands-on experience, making the workshop highly engaging and impactful.
The program was coordinated by Mr. Prakash T and Mr. Vinodkumar N, Staff Coordinators, along with Prof. Shailesh Shetty (I&C Coordinator), Dr. Soorya Krishna K (EDP Cell Coordinator), and Dr. Praveen Shenoy (IIC Coordinator). The event was successfully conducted with the guidance of Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD – AU), Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD – AE), and under the leadership of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT.
The session commenced at 02:00 PM with Ms. Shreya, a 5th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, extending a warm welcome to the gathering. Mr. B. R. Amit, a 5th semester Automobile Engineering student, introduced the resource person, while Ms. Monisha, a 5th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Jnanashri, also from the 5th semester Aeronautical Engineering, served as the master of ceremonies.
The session received positive feedback from the students, who appreciated the exposure to practical AI applications and its relevance to innovation and entrepreneurship.
