Pollution Control Awareness Rally

On the occasion of National Pollution Control Day, the Department of Marine Engineering and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with NSS and AIMES, organized an Awareness Rally on Pollution Control on 2nd December 2025 at Valachil. The objective of the rally was to create awareness among students and the general public about the harmful effects of pollution and the importance of adopting eco-friendly and sustainable practices.

The program began with an address by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, who emphasized that pollution control is a collective responsibility and not limited to laws and regulations alone. He encouraged students to become responsible citizens and actively contribute toward protecting the environment for future generations.

Dr. Lokesh V, Head of the Department of Marine Engineering, guided the students throughout the rally and highlighted the importance of environmental and marine conservation. He explained how pollution affects ecosystems, especially marine life, and stressed the need to link technical education with real-world environmental challenges.

The rally was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Sunil Prakash R and Prof. Chandra Jogi, ensuring smooth organization and active participation. Prof. Vivek V. Kumar, AIMES Coordinator, and Prof. Rakesh Mallya, NSS Coordinator, motivated students to take part in awareness activities and reinforced the role of youth in building a clean and sustainable society. Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, also extended his support by encouraging innovative and eco-friendly solutions to address environmental issues.
