The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the Lalitharanga – College Cultural Committee, successfully organized “Vastra Gala – A Walk Beyond Fashion” on 29th September 2026 at the Auditorium. The event provided students with an exciting platform to showcase their creativity, cultural heritage, traditional attire, teamwork, and confidence through a themed fashion walk. A total of 8 teams enthusiastically participated, presenting their themes through creative costumes, traditional attire, styling, accessories, and coordinated performances.

The event was smoothly conducted under the coordination of Prof. Shana Santhosh and Prof. Shreya Shetty, Department Cultural Coordinators, along with Dr. Sumana V S, Lalitharanga Coordinator. Tanvi Devadiga from CSE served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC). The participating teams were judged by Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar, Department of Marine Engineering, and Prof. Priyanka, Department of MBA, based on creativity, theme presentation, styling, coordination, and overall performance. The Yuga Team from 3rd Semester CSE emerged as the Winner, while the Phoenix Team from the MBA Department secured the Runner-Up position.

The successful conduct of the event was supported by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, and Dr. Shrisha H S, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Their encouragement and support, along with the efforts of the coordinators, judges, faculty members, and student participants, contributed significantly to the smooth execution of the event. Vastra Gala – A Walk Beyond Fashion was a vibrant and memorable occasion that celebrated creativity, cultural appreciation, teamwork, and stage presence among students.
