On 30th September 2026, the Department of ISE & CSD, in association with the IEEE Student Branch (IEEE-SB), organized a technical session titled “Mastering LaTeX: From Basics to a Professional Project Report.”

The session was delivered by Prof. Sowmya, Assistant Professor, Department of ISE. She intro-duced students to LaTeX, a powerful document preparation system widely used for creating pro-fessional academic and technical documents. The session focused on the fundamentals of LaTeX and its practical application in preparing well-structured and professional project reports.

The resource person explained the importance of using LaTeX for academic and technical docu-mentation, highlighting its ability to provide consistent formatting, professional document struc-ture, and effective presentation of project content. She demonstrated the basic concepts and fea-tures of LaTeX and guided students through the process of creating and formatting a professional project report.

The session also provided practical insights into document formatting, organizing content, and preparing structured technical reports using LaTeX. Through demonstrations and examples, stu-dents gained a better understanding of how LaTeX can be effectively used for academic projects and documentation. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to explore LaTeX and develop their skills in professional report preparation.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Aparna N, Department of ISE. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, with the support of Prof. Sudarshan K, HOD, Department of ISE & CSD.
