Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, in association with the All-Students Mechanical Association (ASMA), organized a Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026 on 07 September 2026 at 3:00 PM in M101. The programme was organized to express gratitude and appreciation for the dedication, guidance, and valuable contributions of teachers in shaping the lives and careers of students.

The celebration was graced by Dr. Gopalkrishna Bhat N, Head of the Department of Chemistry, as the Chief Guest. The event provided an opportunity for students to acknowledge the commitment and efforts of their teachers and to recognize the important role of educators in the academic and personal development of students. The Chief Guest was also felicitated by the Department of Mechanical Engineering as a mark of respect and appreciation for his gracious presence and valuable contribution to the field of education.

During the programme, the Chief Guest, Dr. Gopalkrishna Bhat N, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significant role of teachers in shaping the lives and careers of students. He emphasized that teachers do not merely impart academic knowledge but also mould students’ character, discipline, values, and overall personality. He further emphasized that a teacher’s influence extends beyond the classroom and plays a vital role in guiding students towards becoming responsible and successful individuals.

Dr. Shankar K S, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. He highlighted that education is not limited to the transmission of knowledge but also involves developing character, values, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. He encouraged students to make the best use of the guidance and opportunities provided by their teachers and to strive for excellence in their academic and personal lives.

The programme aimed to strengthen the bond between students and faculty members and encouraged students to express their gratitude and respect towards their teachers. It highlighted the importance of teaching, mentorship, and the lasting influence of educators on the lives of students.

The celebration was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology. The programme was coordinated by Charan Shetty M, Student Coordinator, and Prof. Sandesh KS, ASMA Faculty Coordinator. Mr. Eshan, a third-year student, served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the programme.
