Angel Investment and Venture Capital: Funding Pathways for Start-ups
The Automobile and Aeronautical Association (AMARA), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a session titled “Angel Investment and Venture Capital: Funding Pathways for Start-ups” on 27th August 2026 at 2:00 PM at room no M501, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The session was conducted by Prof. Mithun Raj B, Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Business Administration, SIT, Mangaluru, the objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about Angel Investment and Venture Capital as important sources of funding for start-ups. The session aimed to help students to understand different funding opportunities, investment stages, equity, valuation, business pitching, and investor expectations. It also encouraged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, explore innovative business ideas, and understand how financial support can help transform their ideas into viable and scalable businesses.
The session introduced Angel Investment and Venture Capital, explaining their role in providing financial support, mentorship, business guidance, and industry connections. students also learned about equity, valuation, investment stages, investor expectations, and business pitching. The programme encouraged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, explore innovative ideas, and understand how funding can help transform ideas into successful and scalable businesses. Overall, the session provided valuable insights into the journey from an innovative idea to investment and business growth.
The session began at 2:00 PM with Ms. Bhavya, a 7th semester Automobile Engineering student, extending a warm welcome to the gathering and served as the master of ceremonies. Ms. Harshitha, a 7th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, introduced the resource person. The event concluded with Ms. Aakanksha, 7th semester Aeronautical Engineering student, delivering the vote of thanks.
The program was coordinated by Prof. Prakash T, Dr. Niranjan Prabhu and Prof. Jagdeesh B. The event was successfully conducted with the guidance of Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD – AU), Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD-AE), and under the leadership of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT.
