The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized an insightful session titled “Transforming Ideas into Startups: A Lean Approach for Student Innovators” on 20th August 2026 at 12:00 PM in CR-303.

The session was conducted with the objective of motivating students to convert innovative ideas into successful startup ventures by adopting lean startup principles and entrepreneurial thinking.

The resource persons for the session were:

• Ms. Deeksha Sharma P, COO, Vitledg

The program commenced with a formal welcome, introducing the guests and highlighting the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship among engineering students. The speakers shared their entrepreneurial journey and provided valuable insights into identifying real-world problems, validating ideas, developing minimum viable products (MVPs), and understanding customer needs before scaling a business.

Mr. Mudassir emphasized the significance of innovation-driven problem solving and discussed practical strategies for transforming concepts into market-ready products. He explained the lean startup methodology and highlighted the importance of continuous learning, customer feedback, and iterative development.

Ms. Deeksha Sharma elaborated on startup operations, team building, business planning, and leadership skills required to sustain entrepreneurial ventures. She encouraged students to embrace challenges, take calculated risks, and leverage institutional support systems such as incubation centers and innovation councils.

The session witnessed active participation from students and faculty members of the department. The interactive discussions, real-life examples, and question-and-answer session provided students with a deeper understanding of the startup ecosystem and the opportunities available for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal, and Dr. Soorya Krishna K., Head of the Department, ECE. The program was coordinated by Mr. P. Rakesh Mallya, Innovation Ambassador, and Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, SIT.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons for sharing their expertise and inspiring students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship. The event successfully fostered an entrepreneurial mindset among the participants and encouraged them to transform their innovative ideas into impactful startup ventures.
