Teachers’ Day Celebration

The Association of Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering (AMARA), Srinivas Institute of Technology, organized a Teachers’ Day Celebration on 07 September 2026 at Room No. M501, 5th Floor. The programme was organized to express gratitude and appreciation towards teachers for their invaluable contribution to the academic and personal development of students. The theme of the celebration was “Honouring the Guiding Lights of Knowledge.”

The programme was graced by Dr. K. Suryanarayana, Professor and Head, Department of Physics, as the Chief Guest. During his address, Dr. Suryanarayana shared his experiences from his student life and recalled how his teachers had played an important role in shaping his academic journey and personality. He explained that teachers not only impart knowledge but also guide students during important stages of their lives. His sharing of personal experiences made the session meaningful and inspiring for the students.

Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai, HOD, Automobile Engineering, spoke about the life and dedication of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. He highlighted Dr. Radhakrishnan’s commitment to education, his dedication as a teacher and philosopher, and his efforts towards the betterment and recognition of teachers and education.

Dr. Praveen Shenoy, HOD, Aeronautical Engineering, emphasized the importance of students showing respect and gratitude towards their teachers. He also highlighted the contributions of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan towards education and his efforts for the betterment and dignity of the teaching profession. He emphasized that teachers have a significant responsibility in shaping responsible and knowledgeable citizens and encouraged students to recognize and value their contribution.

The session began with Ms. Nikhita, a 5th-semester Aeronautical Engineering student, delivering the prayer. Ms. Anvita, a 7th-semester Aeronautical Engineering student, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Mr. B. R. Amit, a 7th-semester Automobile Engineering student, served as the Master of Ceremonies. Mr. Nikhil, a 7th-semester Automobile Engineering student, introduced the Chief Guest. The event concluded with Mr. Pratham, a 7th-semester Automobile Engineering student, delivering the vote of thanks.

The program was coordinated by AMARA coordinators Prof. Prakash T and Prof. Jagdeesh B. The event was successfully conducted with the guidance of Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai (HOD – AU), Dr. Praveen Shenoy (HOD-AE), and under the leadership of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, SIT.
