The Automobile and Aeronautical Association (AMARA), in collaboration with the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (III) of Srinivas Institute of Technology, organized an industry visit to SKF Elixer India Pvt. Ltd., Belvai, Moodbidri, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on 05 September 2026 at 10:00 AM.

The industry visit was attended by the Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering students along with faculty members Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai and Mr. Prakash T. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to industrial processes and helping them relate their classroom knowledge to real-world industrial applications.

During the visit, the industry personnel provided detailed explanations about the assembly process of water purifiers and the various stages involved in assembling the products. The students were given an opportunity to observe the industrial setup and understand how different components are handled and assembled systematically. The visit also included an explanation of the rice polishing process, enabling the students to understand the practical aspects of machinery and processing operations used in the industry.

The students were also introduced to the sheet metal cutting process used for manufacturing the required components for the products. The industry personnel explained the process and demonstrated how sheet metal is processed and cut according to the required dimensions and applications. This provided students with valuable exposure to manufacturing practices and helped them understand the importance of accuracy and proper process control in industrial production.

An interactive session was also conducted during the visit, where the students actively participated by asking questions related to the processes, machinery and industrial practices observed. The industry personnel patiently clarified the doubts raised by the students, making the visit more informative and engaging.

Overall, the visit to SKF Elixer India Pvt. Ltd. was an informative and enriching learning experience for the Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering students. It successfully helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industrial experience and motivated the students to develop their technical knowledge and practical skills. The students and faculty members expressed their sincere appreciation to the management and industry personnel of SKF Elixer India Pvt. Ltd. for their valuable time, guidance and support in making the industry visit successful.
