Digital Tools, Sahaja Yoga, Certification Awareness, Hackathon, Infinity Quest.
The second day of the Induction Program was conducted on 2 September 2026 for the newly admitted students. The sessions were organized in different venues for Groups 1, 2, and 3, with the objective of introducing students to useful digital resources, personal well-being practices, professional development opportunities, and innovative learning activities.
The morning session for Group 1 was conducted from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the Auditorium on the topic “Digital Tools”, led by Prof. Sathya Prakash, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The session introduced students to the importance of digital tools in modern education and engineering. Students were encouraged to make effective use of digital platforms and technological resources for learning, communication, collaboration, and academic activities. The session helped students understand how digital skills can enhance their efficiency and prepare them for future professional requirements.
For Group 2, a session on “Sahaja Yoga” was conducted from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall, facilitated by Mr. Viresh K. Chandur. The session introduced students to the principles and practice of Sahaja Yoga, with emphasis on relaxation, self-awareness, concentration, and inner balance. Students were encouraged to incorporate healthy practices into their daily routine to maintain a calm and focused approach towards their academic and personal life.
The Group 3 session, held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in Room No. 501, focused on “Certification Awareness” and was conducted by Dr. Dheeraj, Placement and Training Officer. The session highlighted the importance of professional certifications in enhancing students’ knowledge, skills, employability, and career opportunities. Students were informed about the value of acquiring relevant certifications during their engineering education and were encouraged to plan their skill development according to their career interests.
From 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM, Groups 1 and 3 attended a session on “Sahaja Yoga” conducted by Mr. Viresh K. Chandur in the Seminar Hall. The session focused on developing concentration, awareness, emotional balance, and a positive approach to life. Through the activities and guidance provided, students were encouraged to develop healthy habits that could support their academic performance and overall well-being.
During the same time, from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM, Group 2 participated in a session on “Hackathon” conducted by Prof. Shailesh Shetty, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, in the Auditorium. The session introduced students to the concept of hackathons as platforms for innovation, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. Students were motivated to explore ideas, collaborate with peers, and develop practical solutions to real-world problems using technology.
In the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Department of Mathematics organized a special event, “Infinity Quest,” for all three groups in the Auditorium. The event introduced students to the fascinating world of mathematics through fun, interactive, and engaging activities, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and logical thinking beyond the classroom. The program was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Anant Kumar Kulkarni, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, along with Dr. Savitha, Prof. Shilpakala, Prof. Vathsalya, Prof. Ramya, Prof. Kavana, Prof. Roopashree, and Prof. Amruthalaxmi. The event enriched students’ learning experience and concluded the second day on a memorable note.
The second day concluded with students gaining valuable exposure to digital learning, self-development, career-oriented certifications, innovative thinking, and personal well-being. The sessions contributed to creating a positive foundation for their academic journey and professional development.
