On 1st September 2026, the second day of the Induction Programme commenced with the session “Welcome & Induction”, held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The session aimed to familiarize the first-year engineering students with the institution, its academic environment, and the expectations associated with engineering education. The students were sensitized to the importance of discipline, regular attendance, active participation, and responsible behaviour throughout their academic journey. As part of the session, some Final Year students also interacted with the newly admitted students and briefed them about the various events and activities conducted at the college. The session also included engaging activities that encouraged student participation and interaction. Group 1 and Group 3 students were addressed by Dr. Shankar K. S., Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, at the Seminar Hall. Group 2 students were addressed by Dr. Praveen Shenoy, Professor and Head, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, at the College Auditorium. The session provided the students with valuable insights and helped them begin their college life with greater awareness, confidence, and enthusiasm.

The second session of the Induction Programme for Group 1 was conducted on “Certification Awareness” and was led by Dr. Dheeraj, Placement and Training Officer held from 11:15AM to 12:45 PM in Seminar Hall. The session focused on creating awareness among first-year engineering students about the importance of professional certifications during their academic journey. Students were encouraged to pursue relevant certification programmes to enhance their technical knowledge, develop industry-oriented skills, and improve their career prospects. The session also highlighted the role of certifications in complementing academic learning and preparing students for future employment opportunities. The session was informative and motivated students to actively explore suitable certification programmes.

The second parallel session of the Induction Programme for Group 2 was conducted on the topic “Communication Skills” in College Auditorium from 11:15AM to 12:45 PM. The session was led by Prof. Rashmi, Department of MBA. The session focused on highlighting the importance of effective communication in students’ academic, personal, and professional lives. Students were encouraged to develop their verbal and non-verbal communication skills and to express their thoughts clearly and confidently. The session also emphasized the importance of active listening, appropriate language, and effective interaction with others. The session was informative and interactive, providing students with valuable guidance to enhance their communication skills and confidence.

The second parallel session of the Induction Programme for Group 3 was conducted from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM in Room No. 501 on the topic “Discipline / Anti-Ragging.” The session was led by Dr. Suryanarayana, Professor and HOD, Department of Physics, and Dr. Lokesh V., Professor and HOD, Department of Marine Engineering. The session emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and creating a safe, respectful, and supportive campus environment. Students were sensitized to the importance of responsible behaviour and mutual respect among peers. The session also created awareness about maintaining a positive academic environment free from ragging and encouraged students to uphold institutional values and responsibilities.

The third session for Group 1 was conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM by Prof. Vivek, Department of Marine Engineering, on the topic “Basic English” in Seminar Hall. The session focused on developing students’ fundamental English language skills and improving their confidence in communication. Students were encouraged to participate actively in the session and strengthen their understanding of basic English usage. The session emphasized the importance of effective communication skills in academic and professional environments. The interactive nature of the session provided students with an opportunity to engage, learn, and improve their English communication abilities.

The third parallel session for Group 2 was conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the College Auditorium on the topic “Engineering and Its Future.” The session was led by Dr. Niranjan, Aeronautical Engineering Department. The session provided students with valuable insights into the field of engineering and its evolving role in society and industry. Students were encouraged to understand the importance of developing technical knowledge, practical skills, creativity, and adaptability to meet future challenges. The session also motivated students to explore emerging opportunities and career pathways in engineering. Overall, the session was informative and inspiring for the students.

The third parallel session for Group 3 was conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Room No. 501 on the topic “Society & Gratitude: Building Responsible Engineers.” The session was led by Prof. Mithun Raj, Department of MBA. The session emphasized the importance of gratitude, social responsibility, and ethical values in the lives of engineering students. Students were encouraged to understand their responsibilities towards society and the importance of contributing positively to the community. The session highlighted that engineering knowledge should be complemented by empathy, integrity, and a sense of social commitment. Overall, the session was meaningful and helped students understand the qualities of responsible engineers.
