From Ideas to Investment: Understanding VC and Angel Funding
The Departments of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) and Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS), Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a session titled “From Ideas to Investment: Understanding VC & Angel Funding” on 29th August 2026.
The session was conducted by Prof. Rashmi, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, who served as the resource person.
The program aimed to create awareness among students about venture capital (VC) and angel funding and their role in supporting innovative business ideas and startups. The session introduced students to various sources of startup funding and helped them understand how entrepreneurs can transform innovative ideas into investment-ready ventures.
The resource person explained the fundamentals of VC and angel investment, funding stages, investor expectations, business valuation, and the process of approaching potential investors. Students gained insights into how a strong business idea, market potential, business model, and effective presentation can help attract investors. The program successfully enhanced students’ entrepreneurial awareness, financial understanding, and confidence in exploring startup opportunities.
