AI-DRIFT Hackathon – Where AI Meets Speed

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Srinivas Institute of Technology, successfully organized “AI-DRIFT Hackathon – Where AI Meets Speed” on 29th May 2026 at the AIML Laboratory.

The six-hour hackathon brought together enthusiastic student teams to develop innovative AI-based solutions within a limited timeframe. Participants demonstrated their creativity, technical expertise, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities while addressing real-world challenges using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

The event provided an excellent platform for students to enhance their practical skills, collaborate with peers, and gain hands-on experience in rapid solution development. The innovative ideas and prototypes presented by the participants reflected their passion for technology and innovation.

The projects developed during the hackathon were evaluated by a panel of faculty members comprising Prof. Nagaraj Hebbar (Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), Prof. Alwyn Edison Mendonca (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), Prof. Nivin K. S. (Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), and Prof. Sowmya (Department of Information Science and Engineering). The evaluators appreciated the participants' innovative approaches and provided valuable feedback to help students refine their solutions and strengthen their technical competencies.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Daya Naik, Head of the Department, AIML, with the support of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal, and was coordinated by Dr. Parvathraj K. M. M. The hackathon witnessed active participation from students and successfully fostered a spirit of innovation, teamwork, and competitive learning.
