Ideathon
Driven by a vision to inspire innovation and problem-solving among students, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, celebrated World Innovation Day by organizing an Ideathon on 21st April 2026. The event was conducted by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Innovation Cell.
The Ideathon served as an excellent platform for students to brainstorm, collaborate, and pitch technology-driven ideas addressing real-world socio-economic challenges. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from multiple student teams who presented innovative and practical solutions with societal relevance.
The afternoon presentation session was held from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, where participating teams elaborated on their concepts, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes before the judging panel.
The event was evaluated by Mr. Goutham from the CSBS Department and Mr. Sudhir P from the EEE Department. The judging criteria focused on innovation, feasibility, presentation skills, and potential impact of the proposed ideas.
Team Local Flow secured the first place with members Prajwal, Varshini, Ishanya, and Sanvi for their innovative and practically viable solution. Team Smart Local Services, consisting of Dhyan, Hithesh, Mudasir, and Prajwal, secured the runner-up position with an impactful real-world concept.
The event was successfully organized by 6th semester AI&DS students Akshay, Nithesh, Pratham, and Sanjay. The program was conducted under the support and encouragement of Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, and Prof. Shailesh Shetty, Coordinator of Innovation Cell.
The event was guided by Prof. Nagaraja Hebbar N, Head of AI&DS, and coordinated by Prof. Ganapathi Sharma K and Prof. Ajay Prinston Pinto. Faculty members and students actively participated, making the event highly engaging and successful.
