On 12th February 2026, the Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science & Design (CSD), in association with the Institute’s Innovation Cell (IIC), organized an academic training activity titled “Innovation in Green Energy & Smart Billing Systems” at the Department Seminar Hall at 02:00 PM.

As part of the event, Case 3 was assigned to the students, wherein they were provided with a problem statement in C programming related to logical implementation and system-based applications. The participants were instructed to analyze the given problem and write the complete C program independently. Students were strictly instructed not to use any external resources, internet support, or reference materials, ensuring that the activity genuinely assessed their core programming knowledge and problem-solving ability.

The primary objective of this activity was to evaluate students’ understanding of programming fundamentals, logical thinking, and coding efficiency. The session was designed as a placement-oriented training initiative, helping students prepare for technical interviews and competitive coding rounds. By solving the program without assistance, students were encouraged to strengthen their confidence, time management skills, and debugging capabilities.

The event was conducted under the leadership and encouragement of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology. Valuable guidance and support were extended by Prof. Sudarshan K., HOD, ISE & CSD, who emphasized the importance of strong programming skills for career advancement and placement readiness. The program was coordinated under IIC by Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator. Academic guidance was provided by Prof. Sowmya, ISE Staff Advisor, and Prof. Archana D, CSD Staff Advisor. The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Aparna N, Staff Coordinator, and Prof. Sahana B, Staff Coordinator, ensuring smooth and systematic execution of the activity.

Students actively participated in the training session and demonstrated enthusiasm while attempting the given problem. The activity successfully enhanced their logical reasoning skills and prepared them for real-time placement challenges. Overall, the event served as an effective platform to assess and improve students’ technical competency, aligning with the institution’s objective of fostering innovation, skill development, and industry readiness.
