Smart Learning Systems: Leveraging AI for Equal Educational Opportunities

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the banner of the All-Student Mechanical Association (ASMA), in association with the Department of Marine Engineering, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, organized an expert session titled “Smart Learning Systems: Leveraging AI for Equal Educational Opportunities” on 13th February 2026 at 02:00 PM in M101

The session was organized with the objective of creating awareness about the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in modern education and its role in ensuring equal and inclusive learning opportunities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members across various departments.

The Resource Person for the session was Prof. Sudheendra H N, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He delivered an insightful presentation on “Smart Learning Systems: Leveraging AI for Equal Educational Opportunities.” During his address, he explained how Artificial Intelligence can be integrated into educational frameworks to enhance personalized learning, adaptive assessments, and data-driven academic decision-making. The speaker highlighted practical applications of AI in areas such as intelligent tutoring systems, automated evaluation, predictive learning analytics, and virtual learning environments. He encouraged students to explore interdisciplinary approaches and develop innovative educational solutions that address accessibility challenges and support learners from diverse backgrounds.

The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sandesh K S, ASMA Coordinator; Prof. Sunil Prakash R, Event Coordinator; Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator; Dr. Raghavendra M J, IA-IIC; Dr. Lokesh V, Head of the Department; Dr. Shankar K S, Head of the Department; and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru.

The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the management, the resource person, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support. The event successfully strengthened awareness about Artificial Intelligence as a powerful enabler of inclusive education and innovation-driven learning, aligning with the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in promoting sustainable and technology-based development.
