On 5th February 2026, the Department of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science & Design (CSD), in association with the Institute’s Innovation Cell (IIC), successfully organized a technical problem-solving event titled “Innovation in Action: Building Solutions Through Strategic Thinking.” The program was conducted at the Department Seminar Hall at 02:00 PM with the objective of enhancing students’ analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and programming skills.

The event was designed as a hands-on coding activity, where participants were provided with problem statements based on the C programming language. Students were required to analyze the given problem statements and write efficient and correct C programs within the stipulated time. This activity encouraged participants to apply their theoretical knowledge of programming concepts to real-time problem solving, thereby strengthening their logical and strategic thinking abilities.

Students actively participated in the event and demonstrated enthusiasm while solving the problem statements. The activity fostered a competitive yet collaborative environment, encouraging participants to think innovatively, debug effectively, and optimize their code. The event successfully bridged the gap between conceptual understanding and practical implementation of programming skills.

The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, with valuable support from Prof. Sudarshan K., HOD, ISE & CSD, who emphasized the importance of coding skills in innovative engineering solutions. The program was coordinated under IIC by Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, with academic guidance from Prof. Sowmya, ISE Staff Advisor, and Prof. Archana D, CSD Staff Advisor. The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Aparna N, ISE Staff Coordinator, and Prof. Sahana B, CSD Staff Coordinator, ensuring smooth execution.

Overall, “Innovation in Action: Building Solutions Through Strategic Thinking” proved to be a highly engaging and productive initiative. The event not only strengthened students’ problem-solving and coding capabilities but also aligned with the objectives of IIC by promoting innovation, creativity, and strategic thinking among budding engineers. The program set a strong foundation for conducting similar technical and innovation-driven activities in the future.
