On February 3, 2026, Srinivas Institute of Technology conducted Day 3 of the AI research bootcamp titled “GENAIVATION 2026: Innovation to Publication.” The program was organized in association with DHAARINI an AI-Tech Research Academy, with the joint effort of the ISE, CSD, and AI-DS departments.

Day 3 of the AI research bootcamp focused on strengthening students’ understanding of core data analysis and machine learning fundamentals through practical learning. The session was conducted by Mr. Prashanth Kannadaguli, Trainer. The main objective of the session was to help participants understand Linear Regression, its key concepts, assumptions, and real-world applications. The trainer explained how linear regression is used to identify relationships between variables and make predictions based on data.

Important assumptions of linear regression, such as linearity, independence, and error behavior, were explained in a simple manner. The session also included practical implementation, where students were guided step by step through building and interpreting a linear regression model using sample datasets.

Another key topic covered was data merging, where students learned how to combine and manage multiple datasets for effective analysis. The trainer demonstrated how proper data merging helps improve data quality and ensures accurate analysis in real-world projects.

The session focused on hands-on examples, allowing participants to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications. Students actively followed the demonstrations and gained confidence in applying learned concepts to real data.

The program received strong support from Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology. The guidance of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department, ISE & CSD, and Prof. Nagaraja Hebbar, Head of the Department, AI-DS, played an important role in the smooth conduct of the program. The event was also supported by Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, and Prof. Rakesh Mallya. Additional support was provided by Prof. Archana D, ACODE Advisor, Prof. Ajay Pinto, AADE Advisor, and Prof. Sowmya, AISE Advisor. The program was successfully coordinated by Prof. Aparna N, Prof. Sahana B, and Prof. Ganapathi Sharma.

Overall, Day 3 was interactive and informative, helping participants strengthen their fundamentals and better understand how machine learning concepts are applied in real-world data analysis tasks.
