The Workshop on Lean start-up & minimum viable product/business was held on 23rdAugust 2025, organized by Bhavishya M Rai of 5th semester AI&DS in collaboration with the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS)in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council(IIC). The resource person for the workshop was Prof Shailesh S Shetty, Head of CSBS

The aim of the Workshop titled "Lean start-up & minimum viable product/business" for engineering students, particularly those in5th Sem AI and DS department. This session introduces participants to the concept of the Lean Start-up methodology and the importance of building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or business. The Lean Start-up approach emphasizes experimentation over elaborate planning, customer feedback over assumptions, and iterative design over traditional product development, enabling entrepreneurs to reduce risks and optimize resources. Developing an MVP allows startups to launch a basic yet functional version of their product with core features, test it with real users, and gather valuable insights for improvement. This process helps entrepreneurs validate their ideas, pivot quickly if needed, and ensure that their offerings truly meet market needs before investing heavily in full-scale development. By applying Lean principles and focusing on MVPs, students, faculties, and early-stage entrepreneurs can innovate faster, minimize waste, and build sustainable ventures that are more likely to succeed in a dynamic market environment.

The program was supported by our esteemed Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D and was successfully initiated and completed with efforts of Prof.Nagaraja Hebbar, Head of the Al and DS,Prof.Ganapathi Sharma, Department IIC Co-ordinator. The event was coordinated by Prof. Ajay Pinto, Association Coordinator and Technical Coordinator.
