Beyond the Canvas

A talk titled “Beyond the Canvas” was organized on 5th December 2025 at the Seminar Hall of Srinivas Institute of Technology by the Departments of Electronics and Communica-tion Engineering and Marine Engineering in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The session was arranged to encourage creativity and innovation among stu-dents by bringing insights from the world of art and personal growth.

The invited resource person for the event was Mr. Rakshith Bajal, a talented artist known for his creative expression and inspiring artistic journey. He spoke about how his passion for art began at a young age and gradually evolved into a meaningful career. He shared the various hurdles he faced along the way, including limited resources, the need to balance ac-ademics with his interests, and the societal belief that art may not be a secure profession. Despite these challenges, his determination and continuous practice helped him grow and find his unique artistic style.

During his talk, Mr. Rakshith emphasized that creativity is not confined to a canvas but ex-tends into all aspects of life. He encouraged students from technical backgrounds to explore creative thinking, as it plays an important role in problem-solving, innovation, and self-expression. He also spoke about the importance of experimenting with different mediums, staying motivated, learning from failures, and building confidence in one’s abilities.

The session was interactive, with students asking questions about developing artistic skills, pursuing creative careers, and managing setbacks. Mr. Rakshith answered each question with practical advice and examples from his own experience, making the session both en-gaging and relatable.

The event concluded with a sense of inspiration among the audience, who appreciated the honesty and depth of the speaker’s journey. The organizers expressed their gratitude to Mr. Rakshith Bajal for sharing his story and motivating the students.
