
🎓 Valedictory Ceremony of FDP on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Engineering Applications (AMMEA-2025)
The valedictory ceremony of the five-day Faculty Development Program on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Engineering Applications (AMMEA-2025), organized by the Departments of Aeronautical, Automobile, Marine, and Mechanical Engineering of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, was held on 31st January 2025 at 3 PM. The event was presided over by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, who delivered the presidential address, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and highlighting the importance of continuous learning and research in advanced materials and manufacturing. During the session, participants and Heads of Departments shared their positive feedback, emphasizing the knowledge gained, interactive sessions, and the relevance of the topics covered. They appreciated the expertise of the resource persons and the well-structured sessions that enhanced their understanding of emerging trends in materials and manufacturing. A comprehensive five-day FDP report was presented by Mr. Prakash T, Co-Coordinator of the FDP, summarizing key takeaways, expert sessions, and participant engagement throughout the event. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Vivek V. Kumar, who expressed gratitude to all the distinguished speakers, participants, and the organizing team for their contributions to the event's success. The valedictory ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Rajesh Bhat, Coordinator of the FDP, who expressed sincere appreciation to the management of Srinivas Institute of Technology, esteemed speakers, organizing committee, and participants for their support and active involvement in making the FDP a grand success. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including an introduction to advanced materials and smart materials applications, an overview of advanced materials for engineering applications, additive manufacturing technologies, wire arc additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing techniques, applications of advanced materials in engineering fields, recent advancements in materials for biomedical applications, and material characterization and testing using virtual labs. On the final day, participants visited NITK Surathkal, where they explored the Center for Research Facility Annexe and gained insights into various advanced technologies, including EDM, laser beam additive manufacturing, SEM, tribology testing machine, mechatronics, PLC, SCADA, and ANSYS.
