On the occasion of Dasara celebrations, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, in association with STEADY and IIC, organized three cultural events – Rangoli Competition, Thoranam Making, and Trash to Bloom – on 29th September 2025. The events were successfully coordinated by Hemashree (Rangoli), Ananya (Thrash to Bloom), and Rishitha (Thoranam Making).

The objective of these competitions was to encourage students to showcase their creativity, artistic skills, teamwork, and eco-consciousness while fostering cultural values through festive traditions.

The Rangoli competition, was won by Disha (4SN24EC010), Shwetha (4SN24EC046), and Pooja (4SN24EC033), with the second place going to Likhitha S (4SN23EC020) and B.M. Gowthami (4SN23EC011).

In Thoranam Making, the first place was secured by Janani (4SN24EC017) and Harshitha K.S. (4SN24EC015), while Rakshitha (4SN24EC040) and Rashmitha B.A. (4SN24EC041) tied with Preethesh (4SN23EC039) and Yajnesh (4SN23EC062) for the second place.

The Trash to Bloom competition, which emphasized recycling and sustainability, declared Preethesh (4SN23EC039) and Yajnesh (4SN23EC062) as the first-place winners, and Adithi (4SN24EC003), Nagashree A.D. (4SN24EC028), and Vasudha (4SN23EC061) as the second-place winners.

The benefit of these events was to nurture innovation, cultural awareness, and environmental responsibility among students, while providing a platform to express their talents and strengthen the festive spirit on campus.
