An expert talk on “Empowering Students for Industry Readiness: An Expert Interaction” was organized on 7th October 2025 by the Department of Information Science and Engineering in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The session was conducted for students to gain insights into the investment landscape, startup funding process, and the essential skills required to explore such opportunities.

The talk was delivered by Mr. Sushanth Kumar, Founder and CEO, and Ms. Aditi J, Branch Manager, who shared their valuable experiences and guidance on enhancing industry readiness and developing entrepreneurial thinking. They emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations through practical exposure, innovation, and skill-based learning. The session also covered aspects of employability enhancement, including communication skills, project-based learning, and adaptability to emerging technologies, which are crucial for career growth in the modern professional environment.

The event was highly interactive and engaging, providing students with a broader perspective on how to prepare for real-world challenges and explore new career pathways. It encouraged participants to develop a proactive attitude toward continuous learning and innovation.

Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, played a vital role in aligning the event with the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council. The active leadership of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department of Information Science and Engineering, and the efficient coordination by Prof. Sowmya, IIC Event Coordinator from the Department of Information Science and Engineering, ensured the smooth execution of the program.
