Inauguration of the Automobile and Aeronautical Department Association

The Inauguration of the Automobile and Aeronautical Department Association (AMARA) was held on 18th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The office bearers and volunteers of AMARA actively participated in organizing the inaugural session. Dr. Ananth Pai, Founder of the Academy in Pursuit of Engineering Excellence (APEX), Mangaluru, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program began with an invocation by Shrinidhi, a 3rd-year Aeronautical Engineering student, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest by Ms. Mithuna H. R., a 7th-semester Aeronautical student. Mr. D. Monishram, President of AMARA, extended a warm welcome to the gathering.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on stage. Mr. Prakash T, Staff Advisor of AMARA, presented the plan of action for the academic year 2025–26. Mr. Jagadeesh B, Staff Advisor of AMARA, introduced the office bearers for 2025–26 and announced the prize winners. Badges were distributed to the newly formed office bearers, and certificates were awarded to the academic toppers and the logo design winner by the Principal and the Chief Guest. The unveiling of the new AMARA logo was a major highlight of the event, carried out by the dignitaries.

Dr. Praveen Shenoy, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, advised students to dedicate at least 20 minutes each day to learning about current trends and advancements in their field to stay updated with emerging technologies. He also urged every student to actively participate in association events and grab every opportunity to enhance their skills and overall development.Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai, Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering, encouraged students to take the initiative in organizing technical events and actively participate in various association activities to enhance their practical exposure and teamwork skills. He emphasized that every student must be enthusiastic and actively participate in all departmental events to build confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Ananth Pai, delivered an insightful address highlighting the importance of skill development to meet current industry demands and the significance of the GATE examination. He also emphasized that a strong foundation in the basics is essential for achieving excellence and innovation in engineering.Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, delivered the presidential address, urging students to organize various events under the association and stay updated with recent technological trends. Mr. Dheeraj D, Vice President of AMARA, proposed the vote of thanks.

The formal session was followed by a Technical Talk on “GATE: Opportunities and Scope for Higher Studies” by the Chief Guest. The session was highly interactive, focusing on the relevance of the GATE exam, its benefits across different fields, and the career opportunities it offers. The talk was fully interactive and greatly benefited the students by providing valuable insights and motivation to pursue higher studies and professional excellence.The event concluded successfully under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Shenoy, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Dr. Sandesh Kumar Rai, Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering, and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, along with the staff coordinators Mr. Prakash T and Mr. Jagadeesh B. The proceedings were smoothly anchored by Ms. Poornima Yakkundi and Ms. Kavya Muuta, 7th-semester Aeronautical Engineering students, who served as the Masters of Ceremonies.
