From Code to Chaos – Hacking LLMs and Launching Your Cyber Security Career
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the EDP Cell, organized a career guidance session titled “From Code to Chaos – Hacking LLMs and Launching Your Cyber Security Career” on 30th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. Chinmaya Ramana, Cyber Security Engineer, KPMG, Bengaluru, with the objective of guiding students toward emerging opportunities in the field of cyber security and AI security. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal; Dr. Suresha D, Head of the Department, CSE; Dr. Praveen Shenoy,IIC Coordinator; Dr. Jithendra P R Naik, Department IIC Coordinator; and Prof. Harishma K V, Department IIC Coordinator. Their support and leadership contributed significantly to the successful planning and execution of the program.
During the session, Mr. Chinmaya Ramana discussed the role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in modern security systems and highlighted how adversarial prompts, model manipulation, and data exploitation can compromise AI-driven applications. He explained evolving attack patterns, defensive strategies, and the importance of ethical hacking in safeguarding organizational systems. Students gained clarity on essential cyber security skills, including networking fundamentals, threat analysis, penetration testing, secure coding, and the need for continuous upskilling in the rapidly advancing security domain. The resource person provided valuable career guidance by outlining certification paths, internship opportunities, and entry-level roles in cyber security. His industry examples and real-world incident analyses engaged students and encouraged them to explore specialized areas such as AI security, cloud security, and red-team operations.
Students from the CSE department participated enthusiastically and found the session insightful and motivating. The talk helped them understand the intersection of AI and cyber security, inspiring many to consider career opportunities in this growing field. The event concluded on a positive note with appreciation extended to the speaker and the organizing team for delivering an informative and impactful session. The department looks forward to hosting more such industry-oriented programmes to enhance students’ technical knowledge and professional readiness.
