The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Placement Department, organized a Five-day SST programme titled “Building Employability Skills” from 5 October 2026 to 9 October 2026 for the 3rd sem ECE students. The programme was conducted by resource persons from iPEC Solutions Pvt. Ltd. with an emphasis on enhancing students’ communication, confidence, logical reasoning, aptitude, and teamwork skills to prepare them for future placement opportunities.
The primary objective of the programme was to improve students’ verbal and non-verbal communication, build self-confidence, develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and strengthen interpersonal and collaborative skills. It also aimed to familiarise students with group discussions, presentations, interview etiquette, and professional communication while encouraging a growth mindset, self-awareness, and continuous skill development.
The programme covered self-discovery, confidence building, positive thinking, body language, voice modulation, active listening, vocabulary development, essential grammar, and everyday English communication. Students participated in interactive activities, speaking exercises, storytelling, presentations, role-plays, and digital communication tasks. These activities helped them improve their fluency, clarity of expression, public speaking, and confidence in communicating with peers and others. Reading comprehension, professional messaging, and effective communication practices were also addressed.
The sessions on logical reasoning, critical thinking, aptitude, and teamwork focused on problem-solving, numerical ability, analytical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. Students engaged in reasoning puzzles, timed aptitude exercises, team challenges, debates, and group discussions. The programme also introduced career awareness, emerging AI-related opportunities, interview preparation, virtual interview etiquette, and the effective use of digital platforms for employability assessment. A concluding showcase and assessment enabled students to demonstrate their communication and presentation skills, receive feedback, identify areas for improvement, and prepare personal skill-development plans.
The programme enhanced students’ awareness of essential employability skills and provided opportunities to practise communication, public speaking, logical reasoning, teamwork, and group discussion in an interactive learning environment. It also helped students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement, develop greater confidence, and understand the importance of continuous self-development. Overall, the programme contributed to improving their preparedness for placement processes and future professional responsibilities.
