On 8th October 2026, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computer Science and Design (CSD), in association with the Women Cell, organized a cultural quiz competition titled “Wander & Wonder – Discovering India” in Room No. 406. The event aimed to encourage students to explore and appreciate India’s diverse cultural heritage, festivals, traditions, and regional practices.

The quiz was conducted using the Mentimeter platform. A total of 42 teams participated, with two students in each team. Participants used their own mobile phones to access Mentimeter and submit their answers. The competition consisted of 25 questions focusing on Indian festivals, Navaratri traditions, customs, and cultural practices from different parts of the country.

The interactive format encouraged active participation and friendly competition among the teams. The questions tested participants’ knowledge of India’s cultural diversity while making the learning experience engaging through a digital quiz platform. The use of students’ own mobile phones enabled teams to participate directly and respond to the questions within the time provided.

Samanvi and Prateeksha of the 5th semester, ISE, secured the first place in the competition. Their performance was recognized as the winning team of “Wander & Wonder – Discovering India.”

The event was coordinated by Prof. Sahana Bandekar, Event Coordinator, with the support of Dr. Veena Santhosh Rai, Women Cell Coordinator, under the guidance of Prof. Sudarshan K, HOD, ISE & CSD, and Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., Principal.
