IEEE SYNAPSE 2K26 – Ideathon
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS), in association with the Departments of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) and Computer Science and Design (CSD), organized “IEEE SYNAPSE 2K26 – Ideathon” on 9th October 2026 at the AI&DS Project Lab, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, on the occasion of IEEE Day. The event was conducted with the objective of encouraging students to develop innovative engineering solutions, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and apply their technical knowledge to real-world challenges.
A total of 21 teams, each consisting of 3-4 members participated in the event. The ideathon focused on providing participants with a platform to identify and address advanced engineering problems through innovative ideas and practical solutions. Students were encouraged to explore various technical domains, including Artificial Intelligence, next-generation communication systems, cybersecurity, power electronics, embedded systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous systems, and sustainable technologies. The participants were required to analyse the selected problem statements and present their proposed solutions using the organizer-provided chart. Prof. Harishma and Prof. Salini Abraham from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering graced the event by evaluating the students’ presentations and proposed solutions.
The event was successfully conducted under the guidance and encouragement of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology. The programme was supported by Prof. Nagaraja Hebbar N, Head of the Department of AI&DS; Dr. Vinayak Rao, Staff Advisor and IEEE Execom Member; Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Departments of ISE and CSD and IEEE Branch Counsellor; and Dr. Umashankar K S, IIC Coordinator, SIT. The event was coordinated by Prof. Abhijnha B N, Event Coordinator, Department of AI&DS, and Prof. Aparna N, Event Coordinator, Department of ISE, with the support of the student coordinators Vismay Aradhya, Chirag, and Rakshan R.
